Almost 6 months ago I did a 175# bench. Poor health interrupted my workouts and delayed my goals; but hope to do 185# soon. This will be about 6 months later than I hoped, but I am glad to be moving in the right direction.

During my workout yesterday I did 3 sets of BP: 125# 12 reps, 145# 7 reps, and 170# 2 reps.

I also did 2 sets of 1 arm snatches: 40# 8 reps each arm and 50# 3 reps each arm.

Personal goals...
Next BP goal (early November) is 185#.

Here are two projected goals I have.
200# (+) Bench by my Birthday, March 31 (probable).

75# 1 Arm Snatch by my Birthday, March 31 (a real challenge).

Without sickness or injury, I hope reach these goals.
(would like to eventually repeat my personal best BP of 255 when I weighed only 175#.)
(do not expect to repeat my personal best 1 arm snatch of 125 when I weighed only 125#.)

I try to encourage others, especially younger folks. We can't always help what happens to us physically, but I see so many who are not taking health and fitness seriously.

While my post addresses my weight training, the opening comment is actually a call to spiritual health and fitness as well as physical well being.

We must take steps to improve ourselves, in the best way possible, while it is possible.

We turn around and wonder how we got into the mess we got into.

As I said, we cannot always avoid trouble, but we better be doing what we can to avoid it, while we can.

Perfect Deliverance

God provides, calls and provides Christians with a PERFECT DELIVERANCE.

Having PERFECT DELIVERANCE does not mean everything is in the perfect will of God, but rather we are following the will of God even when we are living and dealing with circumstances that are contrary to the will of God.

In this series of 16 AREAS OF PERFECTION, I have not attempted to define or explain the PERFECTION in those areas. I simply pointed out that the Bible clearly calls us to a level of attainable perfection, as it relates to these sixteen areas. #15 Perfect In The Will Of God
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
God provides, calls and enables Christians to be PERFECT IN THE WILL OF GOD.

This article is not a definition or explanation of being PERFECT IN THE WILL OF GOD. It is simply a statement that God calls and enables us to experience and be PERFECT IN THE WILL OF GOD.

As with all perfections and graces in the Christian life, it is the redemptive work of God in us that makes it possible to be PERFECT IN THE WILL OF GOD. Being PERFECT IN THE WILL OF GOD is the result of a right relationship to Christ and choosing to follow His leading. This is a perfection of quality, not quantity. God's word is our authority.

Being PERFECT IN THE WILL OF GOD does not mean everything is in the perfect will of God, but rather we are following the will of God even when we are living and dealing with circumstances that are contrary to the will of God.

ADDENDUM... Romans 12:18
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
God wants us to live peaceably with all men, but that is not always possible. However, God requires of us to do our part in pursuing peace with all men.

Remember, the will of God for one man is not always the will of God of another man. We must find and follow the will of God for us personally and individually.

Strange thing is, hundreds of Biblical passages concerning deliverance from ALL SIN are brushed aside by simply denying them rather than Biblically inspecting them.

There is a movement that wants to lead people astray. Then there are some folks who have simply been misled and deceived to reject the word of God in favor of the word of man, thinking that the word of man is the word of God. Those are the folks I hope will inspect the passages, since they have a real relationship with God and a desire for truth.

Jesus died and rose from the dead to Sanctify Christians Entirely.

Beware The False Narrative That Says You Must Have Sinful Nature All Of Your Life.
One of the most popular false narratives is that Christians must struggle with an inner urge to sin because they will always have the sinful nature, a.k.a.
the "flesh" (which is not to be confused with the physical body, also known as the flesh),
the carnal mind,
the double mind,
the old man,
the root of bitterness,
the evil heart of unbelief,
the law of sin and death.

It is true that we are born with a sinful nature, and it is true that the "old man" (attitude with propensity to sin) remains in the born again believer (which explains the inner struggle in Romans 7), but it is also true that God delivers beleivers from all sin, including the sin nature, when a believer makes full surrender and dies to self, the world and to sin. This entire sanctification (purifying of the heart) that takes place with the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

This purification of the heart and life does not make it impossible for a Christian to sin. Just as Adam was created without a sin nature, he still had the choice to obey or disobey God. Purified believers are not only cleansed from the guilt of their sins (which they have committed against God), they are cleansed from the inherited "bent to sin.

When a person becomes a Christian he is justified (forgiven and made righteous), regenerated (born again, recipient of life and new nature from the Holy Spirit), adopted (legal status with God).

When a believer receives the fullness of the Holy Spirit, the old nature (the remaining evil disposition) is removed through the purifying presence of the Holy Spirit, the cleansing of the blood of Christ, the infusion of the word of God and the influence of the truth.

The believer is still human, with weaknesses and short comings, but he can then love God with all of his heart and mind and soul and strength, and his neighbor as himself.

It is not that the believer changes his direction when he gets entirely sanctified, since the born again believer turns from sin to walk in righteousness by the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives within. The difference is that there is not an inward battle about which direction to go.

The battle is with outward influences, not with self.
The justified have life,
The purified have abundant life.
The justified have joy,
The purified have joy unspeakable and full of glory.
The justified have peace with God,
The purified have the very peace of God, ruling in their hearts.
The justified have love,
The purified have perfect love abounding.

For the purified...
The devil still lives and works to destroy the believer.
Life is still filled with temptation and torment.
The purified are still able to sin, but they are no longer prone to sin.
The purified walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.

ADDENDUM... Being PERFECT IN UNITY is the work of God's transforming and enabling grace (as are the other areas of perfection. We can build on the grace that God has given us, but we must not ever neglect the grace God has given us and continues to give us.

God used human experiences and Biblical truth to remind men like Paul, Peter, Mark. In turn, the Bible writers not only revealed Divine truth, they reminded believers of Divine truths they already knew. God uses our personal experiences to remind us of His revelation.
