10/06/20 MY CALLING, JOB, LIFE

PLEASE READ.
As a Pastor, my job is multifaceted, but it comes under the idea that I PREACH, WARN, TEACH in order to PRESENT ALL OF MY PEOPLE PERFECT IN CHRIST JESUS (Colossians 1:28), and in which ministry I LABOR, STRIVING ACCORDING TO HIS WORKING, WHICH MIGHTILY WORKS WITHIN ME (Colossians 1:29).

This is what keeps me up at night (through prayer, study, writing, and counseling those who accept leadership), and it attends every area of my life.

One burden I face is the fact that few people accept, seek or even want Biblical counsel, pastoral leadership, spiritual enlightenment, relational mending, ministry training.

I invite people to feast at an abundant table, draw from an unfathomable well, receive from a limitless treasure trove, yet most people, even church people often live on the edge instead of in the middle of God's will; walk in the shade and shadows rather than in the full brightness of God's truth; hold back from God (sometimes holding the best for themselves and sometimes holding the worst from the delivering power of God).

When we shortchange God, we shortchange ourselves, our loved ones, our friends, our neighbors, our next generation.
When we shortchange God we lose in the short term and in the long term and may lose in the eternal realm as well.

God's offer of truth, grace, righteousness and Divine relationship does not a limit us to a hard, empty, sacrificial life.
Rather, it is LIFE in its fullness. It is Joy unspeakable and full of glory; Love abounding and perfect; Peace that passes understanding (Peace with man and God, Peace with self and Peace in the midst of a world in turmoil).

Don't settle for the chaff or the leavings or the morsels; come to Christ and be fed and filled with God and His righteousness.

Matthew 5:6
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

2 Peter 1:2-12
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
