Christian societies forbid socially sinful actions, not beliefs.
Oppressive societies forbid Biblical actions and beliefs.
CONSIDER
Christian societies base their moral and justice system on Biblical principles. Therefore immoral behavior, such as murder, violence, stealing, liable, fraud, adultery, rape, homosexuality, obscenity, pornography, pedophilia, bestiality, drunkenness, drug abuse, anarchy are crimes that are punishable. Christian societies do not use the power of the State to control thoughts, regardless of how vile they may be. However, focusing on evil usually results in evil actions.
Oppressive societies (anti-Bible, anti-Christian societies) not only abandon Biblical morality, they attack Biblical beliefs and they attack Christians living their lives according to the moral and spiritual precepts of the New Testament.
