03/15/20 BE CONSISTENT

03/15/20 BE CONSISTENT

Churches should not complain when the State uses disasters to rule over them, since they already seek State permission to exist.

03/15/20 TRUTH, NOT DECEPTION, HONORS GOD

03/15/20 TRUTH, NOT DECEPTION, HONORS GOD

People rob God by claiming that no danger existed rather than recognizing that God delivered us from an impending danger.

03/15/20 STRONG QUALITIES

03/15/20 STRONG QUALITIES

Don't forget, in times of trial, be as wise as serpents, bold as lions and harmless as doves; speaking TRUTH in LOVE.

03/15/20 DON'T BE A POLLYANNA IN LALA LAND

03/15/20 DON'T BE A POLLYANNA IN LALA LAND

Some Christians falsely say that believers will not experience great trials, suffering or loss: contrary to history and Scripture.

03/15/20 DON'T CONTRADICT YOURSELF

03/15/20 DON'T CONTRADICT YOURSELF

Believers boldly say the Bible tells of catastrophic global events in last days, then scoff the possibility when one comes along

03/14/20 TAKE TRIALS AS WARNINGS

03/14/20 TAKE TRIALS AS WARNINGS

This is a good time for westernized churches to figure out how to be dynamic while under coming restrictions.

03/14/20 THINK AHEAD OF THE CURVE

03/14/20 THINK AHEAD OF THE CURVE

In the 1970s there was a national gasoline shortage.

At that time I initiated a plan for meetings in case of State restrictions.

03/14/20 FOLLOWING GOD'S LEADING

03/14/20 FOLLOWING GOD'S LEADING

Each local body decides the matter of where and when and how to gather.
A Church is simply God's people, not bricks and pews and steeple.

03/14/20 DECEIVED "FOLLOWERS"

03/14/20 DECEIVED "FOLLOWERS"

"Christians" will defy the State in order to "hold services" but obey the State in various anti-Bible laws and cultural wickedness.

03/14/20 CLOSED MINDS

03/14/20 CLOSED MINDS

Unless there is major catastrophe, some folks reject all threats as simply fear or conspiracy propaganda.

But even then...

03/14/20 GOOD ADVICE FROM LUTHER

03/14/20 GOOD ADVICE FROM LUTHER

A LOT OF ADVICE OUT THERE, some good, some not. My friend Allen Barnes posted this comment from Martin Luther. I am sure there are other nuggets of wisdom from other Christians in history, but this is concise and clear. It reflects my own view and pastoral counsel to others. Thank you Allen.

Martin Luther's pastoral advice during the Black Plague:

"I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance inflict and pollute others and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me however I shall not avoid place or person but will go freely as stated above. See, this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God."
—Martin Luther, Works v. 43, p. 132. Letter "Whether one may flee from a Deadly Plague" written to Rev. Dr. John Hess.

03/13/20 COVERING OUR BASES

03/13/20 COVERING OUR BASES

Tonight we will set up an ONLINE MEETING (per my plans for years).
NOT MEETING AT CENTER TONIGHT. we will set up from our homes.

This has been my plan for years. Hopefully we will not need this, but it is likely that our ability to gather as a body will change in the future. Also, there are times I would have been online with shut-ins or other situations.

Now is a good time to do it. I hope folks will see the seriousness of being prepared and being equipped for future needs. If you do not want to be part of NHM ONLINE MEETING, that is up to you.

My plan at the present is to use SKYPE, so if you are not already set up with SKYPE, download it to your computer and whichever device you may use. I will get more info to you later.

03/13/20 LOTS OF INFO (CONFUSION)

03/13/20 LOTS OF INFO (CONFUSION)

I don't need to study or understand Covid-19 because there are so many experts.

Too bad they don't agree.
It's like salvation.

03/13/20 TRUE CHRISTIAN RESPONSES

03/13/20 TRUE CHRISTIAN RESPONSES

Compassion, humility and trust, in Jesus and the Holy Bible, are always appropriate Christian responses to human trouble and trials.

03/13/20 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

03/13/20 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

Human evaluations, predictions and instructions can be helpful at times.
Divine wisdom and comfort is always trustworthy and helpful.
