05/20/20 CONCERNING THE RESURRECTION

05/20/20 CONCERNING THE RESURRECTION (10 years ago)

A blast from the past concerning 1 Corinthians 15.

1 Corinthians 15 is arguably the most important passage in the Bible concerning the Resurrection, but notice three things God states in this passage.

1- Final Salvation depends on Holding Fast to the Gospel (vs. 2).

2- Resurrection Faith Does Not Sin (vs. 34).

3- Resurrection Faith is Constantly [a] Steadfast in Belief, [b] Unmoved from Holy Living and [c] Abounding in the Work of the Lord (vs. 58).

A CLOSER LOOK

These three passages are at the beginning, heart and end of Paul's teaching about the resurrection.

Paul introduces this great subject calling for believers to HOLD FAST their faith if they want to be finally saved.
Paul states that deliverance from sin in this life is the reason for the proclamation of the gospel.
Paul concludes this passage by calling believers to be unshaken in their beliefs, fixed in their behavior and abounding in the business of the Lord.

Paul calls believers to...
Continuous Faith
Consistent Righteousness
Constant Service to the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:2
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory (hold fast) what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:34
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 Corinthians 15:58

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
