11/24/20 ESSENTIAL AND EXPERIENTIAL

11/24/20 ESSENTIAL AND EXPERIENTIAL

Essential truths. Experiential salvation (from 4 years ago).

TWO THOUGHTS...
1- The miracle of salvation is not so much that God loves us, which is marvelous beyond comprehension, but that salvation (not simply forgiveness), transforms us from twisted and broken sinners to holy and whole followers of Christ by supernaturally conforming us to image of Jesus.

2- Salvation from sin and selfishness to holiness and faithfulness is accomplished by the two instantaneous and Divine works of grace (justification and entire sanctification), and by the walk of grace, which follows our total commitment.

Re-posting one of my earlier articles.
08/12/19 THE HOLY SPIRIT IN BELIEVERS

Here is a post I made in 2013, concerning a quick reference to the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.
In this quick reference I give passages for the Holy Spirit's work in our Regeneration, Victorious Life (walk), Bearing Spiritual Fruit, Leading, Purifying of the Heart, Filling, Anointing, Teaching, Spiritual Gifting, Empowering, and our Sealing.
I hope you receive a blessing.

10/05/13 LET GOD'S LIGHT ENLIGHTEN YOUR HEART
The Bible does not contradict itself, but rather the clearer statements illuminate the more difficult statements. HOWEVER, the Bible does contradict the teachings of men that do not agree with the clear revelation of God.
With this as a basis of understanding the Bible, consider my previous post, THE HOLY SPIRIT IN BELIEVERS, and accept the truth that Christ saves His people from their sins. Christ does not save His people in their sins, with their sins or simply from the penalty of sin, but from their sins.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN BELIEVERS

BORN OF THE SPIRIT
John 3:5

(5) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (Jn. 3:6).

LIVING, WALKING IN THE SPIRIT
Romans 8:12-13

(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (Ro. 8:5,9-10; Ga. 5:16, 25).

BEARING FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
Galatians 5:22-23

(22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
(23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

LED BY THE SPIRIT
Romans 8:14

(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

PURIFIED BY THE SPIRIT
Acts 15:8-9

(8) And God, which knows the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
(9) And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. (1 Th. 4:7-8; 1 Pe. 1:2, 22).

FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT
Ephesians 5:18

(18) And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; (Ac.2:13-18; 4:8, 31; 6:3; 11:24).

ANOINTED BY THE SPIRIT
Luke 4:18

(18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

TAUGHT BY THE SPIRIT
John 14:26

(26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (Lk. 12:12; Jo. 15:26; 16:13).

GIFTED BY THE SPIRIT
Hebrews 2:4

(4) God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? (1 Co. 12:4).

EMPOWERED BY THE SPIRIT
Acts 1:8

(8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Ac. 10:38; Ro. 15:13, 19).

SEALED BY THE SPIRIT
Ephesians 4:30

(30) And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (2 Co. 1:22; Ep. 1:13)

BTW, do not expect Christ to save you from your sins if you do not trust Him fully and surrender fully to His Lordship. God neither forces anyone to go to heaven or hell. He enables us and requires us to make a reasonable choice.

Isaiah 55:6-7
(6) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
(7) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
