09/16/20 THREE CATEGORIES OF MEN

09/16/20 THREE CATEGORIES OF MEN

3 categories of men.
The natural man is psuchikos.
The carnal Christian is sarkikos.
The spiritual man is pneumatikos.

1- The unsaved man is called the NATURAL man. The NATURAL man is dead in sins and trespasses. The natural man has a fallen Human Nature (the nature to be human i.e. body soul and spirit, which was inflicted by the fall of Adam), and a totally corrupt, inherent Sinful Nature (the nature to sin inherited from Adam a.k.a. The Old Man). The Greek word is transliterated, psuchikos. He is spiritually destitute.

2- The Carnal Christian, saved man begins his saved life with his Human Nature, his Sinful Nature and the addition of an imparted godly, divine nature (the nature to be godly a.k.a. The New Man). This new Christian therefore has a Double Mind, (the Carnal Mind, mind of resistance to godly concerns, but he also has the Mind of Christ, which desires the will of God). This person has CLEAN HANDS (having been forgiven, justified and regenerated). The internal battle between his old nature and his new nature is addressed in Romans chapter seven.

3- The Spiritual Man, the believer who has both CLEAN HANDS and a PURE HEART, who has not only had his sins forgiven but has had his heart purified by seeking God's complete deliverance from sinful actions and SINFUL NATURE. This person is redeemed, justified, regenerated and ENTIRELY SANCTIFIED. The spiritual battle of the ENTIRELY SANCTIFIED is with the powers of darkness rather than with an inward, inherent tendency to sin. Temptation is real, the battle is real, the possibility to fail, fall, sin is real, but it is not the battle of Romans Seven. In fact, at the end of Romans seven God introduces His plan and power to deliver from the inner struggle, and then Romans seven is followed by the teachings in Romans eight makes it clear that the internal struggle is over as long as the believer continues to walk in the light of God's word and salvation.
