God provides, calls and enables Christians to be PERFECT IN LOVE. This article is not a definition or explanation of LOVE. It is simply a statement that God calls and enables us to experience and exemplify perfect LOVE.

As with all perfections and graces in the Christian life, it is the redemptive work of God in us that makes Perfect LOVE possible. Perfect LOVE is the presence and practice of God's LOVE in us. This is a perfection of quality, not quantity. God's word is our authority.

PERFECT LOVE

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect (5046), even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (5046).
DLG note... The context of this passage makes it clear that the perfection Jesus calls us to have is PERFECTION OF LOVE. 

Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness (5047). 

1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected (5048): hereby know we that we are in him. 

1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected (5048) in us. 

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect (5048), that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world."
