A FOLLOW UP to my previous post

09/12/20 A FOLLOW UP TO MY PREVIOUS POST
06/13/14 GOODNESS IN THE BELIEVER

A FOLLOW UP to my previous post on Christians BEING GOOD AND DOING GOOD.
I have written various articles the subject of Christians being good and doing good works.
This article is a compilation of over 70 verses from 21 New Testament books (including quotes from Jesus), written by 7 of the 8 writers* of the New Testament (Jude does not use the word, "good," [though he does refer to believers as being, "sanctified and faultless], aligning Christians with goodness and good works.

The goodness and good works in these passages are the result of a right relationship with God, through salvation in Christ.

* If the book of Hebrews was written by another Holy Spirit inspired writer instead of written by the Apostle Paul, then these verses were written by 8 of the 9 N.T. writers.

06/13/14 GOODNESS IN THE BELIEVER

My experience has been that those who espouse sinning or defeatist religion are never satisfied to hear me say...
"I was born with a sinful nature," or
"I was a sinner by choice, separated from God and in need of saving grace," or
"I sinned at some point subsequent to my salvation," or
"I am still able to sin," or
"I may sin in the future," or
"I need the atoning, cleansing, empowering work of God in my life all of the time, and without His grace and salvation I am lost."

No! That is not enough. They want me to say that I am sinning now, that I will keep on sinning and that Jesus either does not, or cannot, or will not save me from sinning.

It does no good to point out that the Bible says that God saves His people from all sin in this present evil world, including the penalty, the power and the pollution of sin.
It does no good to point out that the Bible clearly says we can live without sinning, because of the power of the blood of Christ, of the Holy Spirit, and of the word of God.
