08/08/20 A BLIND SPOT IN THE CHURCH
When are Christians going to accept the NEW TESTAMENT VIEW of non-violence?
Better be soon. Bad times are coming to USA.
Sadly there are few preachers teaching the New Testament view (not to be confused with religious and secular Pacifism). It is also sad that most parishioners don't even want to hear about the view of the New Testament, the early church and historic Biblical Christianity.
Most western Christians have a Constantinian and Reformed view (following Roman Catholicism), which allows people to kill in the name of God, in the name of Jesus.
Make no mistake about it, the New Testament model and directives require believers to give their lives rather than take the lives of their enemies. New Testament Christianity is not for the faint of heart or those who believe that God gives them the right to kill anyone.
If you do not agree with my position, you should at least find out what the New Testament actually says concerning Christian violence.
REMEMBER, I am not denying that God gives the sword of steel to the State to punish the wicked and protect the righteous. I am saying that the Church is not the State and the Church has been given a higher responsibility than the State, which is to wield the Sword of the Spirit, rather than the sword of steel.
(this is going to make me a lot of friends and make me popular).
