08/27/20 DLG FB NOTE... GOD SAVES CHILDREN 04/03/10

HOW IT STARTED
Years ago, my congregation and I visited a church while they were having their Annual Bible Conference, with churches coming from across the nation. While eating a meal together, one of the pastors asked how I came to know the Lord. I explained that my father, though unsaved, would tell me Bible stories and tell me that Jesus would help me be a good little boy. The Holy Spirit used this and convicted me for having been "ugly" (sinful) and I asked Him into my heart and life. I told the pastor that I was three (3) years old when I got saved and that God called me to the ministry that same year.

TAG TEAM RANTERS
During their sessions it was not unusual for one pastor to stand up and start preaching while another had the floor. They were polite and it was done in an orderly fashion. This could happen several times during one session (sort of like tag-team preaching). At one point a preacher started ranting that young children could not get saved, especially if they were very young children. Apparently my testimony had become fodder for that group of preachers, because several of them attacked me, my experience and the concept of children getting saved at a young age. They pointed out that a young child could not have a legitimate call to the ministry either. They were actually trying to get the people in my congregation to leave our church and join with theirs.

POOR LITTLE FELLOW
At one point they called one of their own small boys (about 6 or 7 years old) to the front of the church, intending to mock childhood salvation. They asked the little boy theological questions, couched in technical terminology. They scoffed the idea that a child could understand enough doctrine in order to get saved. They talked to him about sin, forgiveness, righteousness, confession, repentance and faith. The little boy was obviously shaken by the whole experience.

THIS WAS NOT MY FIRST RODEO
I maintained my composure through their mean spirited tirade and left the building in an orderly fashion at the end of the service.

TIME TO LEAVE
In the yard, in front of the church building I spoke to the pastor and some other "ministers" and told them we were leaving and would not be back. He asked why, and I explained it to him. His fellow pastors wanted to argue, but I told the pastor how disappointed I was in their actions. They continued to rudely interrupt our conversation, viciously attacking me, my doctrines and my salvation..

BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE
While we were standing there, a lady interrupted the pastor and told him that he needed to come into the church, because there was a problem at the altar. They had tried to solve it, but they really needed him to come inside. Someone was seeking salvation, and they did not know how to pray with him. The pastor asked what was wrong. Apparently the little boy they had tried to manipulate had gotten under conviction for his sins and was wanting to ask Jesus to come into his heart and life. The pastor headed for the altar, hopefully to lead the little boy to Jesus.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Some people preach Christ for the wrong reason, but the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation (Ro. 1:16). Even if a donkey tells the truth, it is the truth (Nu. 22:28).

Philippians 1:15-18
15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel.
18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, a
nd will rejoice.
