08/20/20 BLESSED QUIETNESS

08/20/20 BLESSED QUIETNESS

Ahh! Our house is so quiet (from outside noise and house noises).
Our lives (personal and family) should also be free of "NOISE."

Our house is resistant to outside noises because it is a concrete block structure, we are over 130 feet from the road and our present neighborhood is a quiet community.
Our house is quiet on the inside because the doors don't squeak, only one of the floors creaks.

An older house is likely to have more noises than a new one. I think our house is about 60 years old but it is very quiet. Maintenance is essential to keep a house quiet on the inside.

Our lives need to enjoy "Blessed Quietness." We live in a noisy and troubled world but we should live in the center of God's will, which shields us from the screams of worldly upheaval. We should be aware of the chaos our world lives in, but we should not be part of the chaos and we should not have our peace disturbed by the troubles of the world. When our mind is stayed on Him, He gives us perfect peace.
Isaiah 26:3
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Likewise, we should have a quiet, peaceful, restful inner life. We need to keep our minds on Christ and heavenly realities. We need to bring every thought captive to Christ. We need to pursue peace and eschew chaos.

A person has done well if he finds and apprehends peace and quiet for himself. But the person who lives in a family of peace and quiet is abundantly blessed.
